Signs It Might Be Time To Get A New Mattress

Picture
Cbus Mattress Girl here to answer a question I get all of the time!
When should I replace my old mattress?

First things first, If you’re wondering about getting a new mattress it's probably ready to be replaced . Mattresses are typically designed to last between five and ten years, depending on the quality of the mattress and upkeep. I like to go by the 8 rule... "replace every eight". This means replace your mattress every eight years to avoid sleepless nights and in eight years you'll have enough savings in your budget for the mattress you're looking for.

Here are some signs that it's time to replace your old mattress

1. Time & Mattress Age
As time goes by changes will occur with your mattress and you may notice visible signs of aging, this is natural. Look for signs of wear and tear or indentations.

2. A Dirty Mattress
Mattresses carry a lot of dirt! They collect body fluids, dead skin cells, animal hair, dust mites, pollen and other allergies (that double over ten years). The best way to protect your mattress from dirt is by using a mattress protector and washing your sheets on a regular basis.

3. A Change In Your Lifestyle
Did you purchase your current mattress to share with a partner you are no longer with? Or maybe for your child to sleep with you with enough space? Often times people forget about simple life changes, noticing these changes can help you get better sleep. Use these next life steps to get a mattress that belongs to you (and partner) and provides the support and space you (and your partner) need.

4. Sleepless Nights / Waking Up With Aches & Pains
Are you not getting as much sleep as you used to? Or maybe you're waking up with aches and pains? If you answered yes to either of these questions it might be time to start mattress shopping. All of these are signs of a worn-out mattress.

Avoid these things to lengthen your mattresses longevity
-Don't use it as a trampoline
-Don't eat or drink on your bed
-Don't lay in bed with shoes on
-Don't use your bed as storage to hold other items
